The CME Coalition held a virtual webinar on June 29, 2022 following the issuance of its new compliance guide, Independent Medical Education (IME) Compliance Guide, for use by accredited CME providers and commercial supporters. The IME compliance guide additionally contains FAQS for non-accredited activities. The CME Coalition has produced this compliance guide and FAQs in response to numerous questions it has received regarding: (1) the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, which have been adopted by several accrediting bodies; and (2) best practices for education providers and the industry to consider for non-accredited educational activities.
On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, a free webinar was held to examine 'Risks and Opportunities in Today's Challenging World of CME.' The webinar featured representatives from the CME Coalition, including Senior Advisor Andrew Rosenber and Thomas Sullivan, President of Rockpointe Corp., as well as representatives from the American Academy of Family Physicians and ABTS Convention Services. Key topics of discussion included MACRA and the new physician Quality Payment Program (QPP), AAFP's Blended Learning Format Option, and more. The slides from the presentation are included below.
Today, CME Coalition's Andy Rosenberg and Tom Sullivan participated in an Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP) webinar entitled "Trump or Trumped - Update on CME and Federal Policy." The webinar provided participants with an update in the status of healthcare legislation and changes on Capitol Hill, specifically pertaining to the MACRA Quality Payment Program and the 2018 Quality Improvement CME Measure. The webinar also covered the CMS revised FAQ on its Open Payments website regarding the reporting of CME-related payments. Rosenberg and Sullivan also discussed CME's role in tackling the growing opioid epidemic. Powerpoint slides for this webinar can be found below.
